All driving range businesses will need to install some type of driving range netting. Not only does netting prevent the loss of golf balls from off range drives, but it also protects your business from liability if passes by are hit by errant golf balls. Since netting is such a necessity for all golf driving range businesses, there are a number of types of netting available for different purposes.
The several types of driving range netting available all have different prices and durability characteristics as well. One of the most common types of netting is cotton fiber netting, which is relatively inexpensive, but can degrade quickly when exposed to the environment and the elements year round.
This means that for driving ranges located in areas that have relatively mild weather conditions such as Florida or Arizona, cotton netting may be sufficient as it will not degrade or break down as quickly as in areas that receive lots of snow and wind like Maine or Canada. Another type of netting that is availble is nylon netting, which lasts much longer in difficult conditions, but is also significantly more expensive to purchase and install.
